This course is intended for Fitness Instructors who have a broad knowledge and range of skills in the fitness industry and who wish to develop their careers as Tutors/Trainers. You will learn the basic principles of training and refined training techniques.

TARGET CANDIDATES
This course is designed for:
- Fitness Instructors who wish to pursue a career as a Tutor/Trainer within the Fitness Industry and Active Leisure Sector
- Those who are already working in as a Tutor/Trainer but who do not hold any formal qualifications
PREREQUISITES
Candidates must be aged 18 or over and must:
- Hold a nationally recognised qualification in the particular subject area that they wish to tutor in, e.g.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Gym or Exercise to Music Instruction or equivalent
- Note: candidates with quaifications that are not current (i.e. achieved within the last three years) should provide additional evidence of CPD (continued professional development) and work experience
- Have a minimum of three years industry experience
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The 3 day course is held in Cambridge and covers the theoretical elements of the following subjects:
- Training needs and objectives
- Learning styles and preferences
- Training skills, structure and design
- Training styles and communication
ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE
Candidates will be required to:
- Deliver a 30-40 minute presentation or training session (Day 3)
