Volunteer Counsellors

The YMCA is currently looking to recruit volunteer counsellors who have been approved to begin 1-2-1 client work.  This work is available in several locations throughout Cambridgeshire.  The minimum commitment we require is three hours per week, 46 weeks per year, for at least 18 months.

Generic Sessional Worker Post

The YMCA Cambridgeshire & Peterborough are looking for sessional workers to work across our projects when required.

The projects cover an age range of 7 - 19 so experience of working with young people is highly desirable.

We are looking for people with experience of group work and 1:1 mentoring who can offer our young people knowledge and experience working in the following areas:  education, housing, sexual health, substance misuse, criminal justice system and Looked After Children.

Sessional workers will have excellent communication skills and be flexible and responsive to individual need.  Sessional workers will  have to be proactive and use initiative in difficult situations with, at times minimal supervision.  The ability to speak additional languages is also highly sought afer.

To include day, evening and weekend work.

Salary £8.22 - £9.29 per hour depending on experience.
