YMCA Huntingdonshire and Fenland Counselling Service

YMCA Huntingdonshire and Fenland Counselling Service has been offering counselling to young people since 1992. The Huntingdonshire YMCA Counselling Service was established at the end of 2009. The service offers counselling in secondary schools and community settings in Huntingdonshire and Fenland for young people aged 13–25 years old.

To access this service young people can self refer or be referred by other agencies.

For more information about the Huntingdonshire service or to refer, please contact the Huntingdonshire and Fenland Counselling Co-ordinator, tel: 01733-373186, email counselling@theymca.org.uk

It can be difficult moving from childhood to adulthood

If you are feeling troubled, or having difficulties with any problem however big or small it may seem, please contact us and we will be able to organise an assessment with one of our counsellors. This will take place at a mutually agreed time. We will then organise a counsellor for you, if appropriate.

The service is free. You will see the counsellors for 50 minutes every week for 6 weeks initially. Further sessions can then be continued if agreed by both you and your counsellor. The counsellors are trained to create an atmosphere where it’s safe to talk about yourself and your situation or problems. You are accepted, not judged. They give support and understanding and a safe place for you to explore your feelings and behaviour and realise your choices and potential.
