Ten Sing Volunteer Youth Workers
Ten Sing performing arts groups are FOR young people, run BY young people, with adult presence
We are looking for several volunteers:
- A mature adult to act as facilitator
- An over 18-year old to be responsible for co-ordinating evening activities
- Any young person who would like to be involved in sharing their skills
The Adult Volunteer needs to:
- Be able to attend 2-hour sessions weekly in term time (or twice a month if two volunteers share)
- Be able to oversee groups of young people (with another person 18+)
- Liaise with the YMCA contact person regarding participation in various Ten Sing events - local/national/international (eg concerts, festivals, tours)
- Be a committed Christian
The 18 year+ Volunteer needs to:
- Be able to plan and co-ordinate evening sessions involving local secondary school students in dance, drama and other creative activities (weekly in term time)
- Befriend the members and keep in touch with them outside Ten Sing
- Liaise with the Adult Volunteer
- Be able to organise local performances (with the Adult Volunteer)
- Take responsibility for venue keys
- Be a Christian or have sympathy for the Christian faith
Young Volunteers need to:
- Liaise with the group
- Share a skill with the group
- Befriend the members
- Be a Christian or have sympathy for the Christian faith
All applicants should:
- Enjoy being with young people
- Have an interest in the performing arts
